Sustainability at Implus

Date: 11-04-2023

Here at Implus, we're committed to reducing our carbon footprint and increase our sustainable practices as a company. We’re doing this in a variety of ways, such as decreasing corporate waste and energy, as well as product and packaging redesigns.

Sustainability Collection by TriggerPoint

Last year, TriggerPoint introduced 3 new products in their new sustainability range including two variations of the GRID Foam Roller, and a new exercise mat. These products use eco-friendly materials and lessen our carbon footprint – the packaging is even recycled!

The Recycled GRID, in soft blue, is now eco-friendly with 80% recycled materials. The Eco GRID, in natural beige, is made with 30% renewable, biobased materials, in addition to EVA foam and a recycled plastic core. Both GRIDs, like their predecessors, deliver firm compression while channelling blood and oxygen needed to repair muscles.

The Eco Mat completes the collection and is made with 20% renewable, biobased materials, in addition to EVA foam. The Eco Mat is ideal for stretching and movement during yoga or other forms of exercise and is perfect for use with other TriggerPoint products.

Stay tuned for more products joining the sustainability range in the near future.

Balega Socks – Better for the Environment

Balega has been an advocate for sustainability for a while and that started with the inclusion of recycled yarns into most of their socks*. How is Balega making this happen? All styles containing Drynamix® polyester have shifted to Drynamix® recycled polyester. This polyester contains recycled plastic from waste created by consumers and manufacturers.

Plastic is sorted and washed, then chopped into little flakes. The flakes are then blended and melted into chips and these chips are textured and made into yarn! No quality is sacrificed in this process – Balega will always strive to preserve their unmatched excellence in fit, feel and performance.

Taking it one step further, Balega is transitioning through a packaging redesign. Through this, it will not only reduce paper size by 26%, but decrease material waste by 42%.

*the only sock style that does not contain Drynamix® is Blister Resist.

Treadlightly

Implus is a proud partner of TreadLightly, a national recycling program that takes unwanted sport and active lifestyle footwear and recycles it to give it new life. This program is part of our wider commitment to take accountability for footwear waste in Australia. TreadLightly is an industry-led program empowering brands, retailers, and consumers to save footwear from landfill –where it can take up to 1000 years to decompose.

At Implus Asia Pacific, the brands and products included in this initiative are Sof Sole Insoles, Spenco Insoles and Harbinger Leather Gloves.

If you have any pre-loved footwear, insoles or leather gloves laying around, you can visit one of the 400+ collection sites to drop off your shoes to be recycled responsibly. Our recycling partner then gives them new life as mats or flooring for retail stores, gyms, and playgrounds.
